8 Ways To Make A Pool Party Epic
Having a pool party? Then you had better plan ahead. Good planning makes the difference between an epic pool party and quiet social time in the water. If it’s going to be a young crowd (and with pool parties it often is) then you will need more than the pool to make the party fun. There are lots of things you can do: squirt guns, music, food and games are just a few examples.
- Decorations
A party won’t feel like a party without decorations. It’s best to put up your decorations the night before the party. There are plenty of things that can’t be prepared until the day of, so it’s best to avoid scrambling to get your decorations up just before the guests arrive.
- Food
Food is always going to be the staple of any good party. After some fun in the pool people will be hungry and looking forward to a good meal. If you can, have some food prepared beforehand so people can snack and you can have some fun, or better yet, throw a barbeque.
- Music
Music is another staple ingredient for an awesome party. What kind of music you play is entirely dependent on you. If you can, hire a DJ with their own equipment so you don’t have to worry about moving equipment outside or keeping the music playing. Just be mindful of the neighbours.
- Water Guns
Do you think water guns are just for kids? Think again. Once you start spraying down your friends you’ll remember just how much fun it is. You can send out squirt gun invitations and invite every guest to bring a squirt gun, and it doesn’t hurt to have a few water balloons on hand either.
- Frisbees
Frisbees are a load of fun, and you can play with them at any outdoor event. They are pool friendly (but a little slippery when wet!) Just as with squirt guns, you can send Frisbee invitations by writing down an invitation on a frisbee.
- Games
Games are a great way to get conversation going at parties. They are mentally stimulating and fun. Ball games, water games and even board games can be fun. Of course they don’t have to be planned to the letter, but if things are little slow then they can be very handy to have prepared.
- Lighting
If the party is taking place at night then having some light to create a festive atmosphere is a good idea. It can be something simple like coloured bulbs in your outdoor lamps or strings of holiday lights, or if you want to get a little more exotic, open fire torches.
- Floating Devices
Floating devices are also fun. They can serve a safety purpose by allowing some guests to just relax in the water without having to tread or wade. Kids also go crazy for anything in a pool that floats, quickly transforming them in their imaginations to shipwrecks or battleships.
Pool parties are great fun if you plan well enough and have the right props. Food and music are a must and, of course, lots of people (or as many as you can handle). If you would like to plan for a pool party or need pool supplies, then don’t hesitate to call us today!
